  • Everyone starts at Core; Luxe requires 5,000 monthly points and Pinnacle 25,000, while VIP is not available through points.
  • Cash spend currently earns 1,000 points per $1,000, and points reset monthly instead of accumulating indefinitely.
  • Alternative paths include qualifying Liquid balances, staked ETHFI or annual purchases of $199 for Luxe and $999 for Pinnacle where offered.

What changes between the four levels

Ether.fi publishes four membership levels: Core, Luxe, Pinnacle and invitation-only VIP. Core includes the basic Cash product and a first 3% cashback band. Higher levels expand that band, add Category Cashback, increase card and support benefits and publish higher account-protection limits.

A higher level is not automatically better value. Some routes require maintaining assets, staking a volatile token or paying an annual price. Compare the benefits you will actually use with the capital, token and membership cost needed to qualify.

Membership points and monthly resets

Luxe currently needs 5,000 points to activate and 5,000 points each month to maintain. Pinnacle needs 25,000 points. Membership points reset monthly and do not accumulate across several months toward a points-based level.

Eligible Cash card spend earns 1,000 points per $1,000. Ether.fi also lists points for Stake, Liquid, staked ETHFI, trading and borrowing activity. Because qualifying activities and rates can change, the account's live Membership view is the final reference for progress.

Balance, staking and annual-upgrade routes

The official Membership table lists Luxe qualification through a $15,000 eligible Liquid balance, 30,000 staked ETHFI or a $199 annual purchase. Pinnacle lists $100,000 in Liquid, 150,000 staked ETHFI or a $999 annual purchase. VIP lists $500,000 in Liquid or 500,000 staked ETHFI, but no points or paid route.

These paths are not equivalent. Holding Liquid introduces product and asset risk, staking ETHFI adds token-price and liquidity exposure, while a paid membership creates a known fixed cost. Evaluate each route separately rather than treating the tier as free because no card fee appears at checkout.

Benefits worth separating

The everyday cashback band rises from the first $2,000 at Core to $10,000 at Luxe and $50,000 at Pinnacle. Category Cashback begins at Luxe. Ether.fi also publishes travel discounts, Visa Concierge, virtual and physical card allowances, support benefits and account-protection limits that increase by tier.

Not every announced benefit is live. Ether.fi's benefits page separately labels planned lounge and identity-protection features. A future benefit should be valued at zero until the provider confirms launch, availability and terms for the user's country.

Which level is economically sensible?

Estimate annual eligible spend, subscription bonuses and benefits you would otherwise buy. Then subtract the annual membership cost or the opportunity and market risk of assets used to qualify. Luxe or Pinnacle can make sense without being optimal for every user.

Core is the cleanest baseline because it avoids a paid upgrade. A higher level becomes compelling only when the additional reward band, capped category benefits and other usable perks exceed the cost and complexity of reaching it.
